And Nacer Bouhanni (FDJ.fr) was the man celebrating come the end of the stage – for the third time at this year’s Giro d’Italia.
Sprint rival Elia Viviani (Cannondale) was left to curse being caught up in a crash, crossing the finish line in some pain.
