Bauke Mollema goes into Liege-Bastogne-Liege riding a recent wave of form which has already seen him finish seventh at the Amstel Gold Race and fourth at La Fleche Wallonne.
Mollema is at home on the punchy terrain of the Ardennes and already has top tens to his name in La Doyenne. Could this be his chance to grab a podium spot for the first time? Paul Martens, who forms part of Mollema’s support team, has also been in good form with some strong rides.
With Froome, Valverde, Rodriguez and co all in opposition, this could be Mollema’s chance to prove he has what it takes to sit at world cycling’s top table.
