The ‘cross season is now upon us, and as riders swap their trusty road bikes for knobbly-tyred equivalents , the pinnacle of the sport – the UCI Cyclo-Cross World Cup – kicks off tomorrow.
Staged in Valkenburg in the Netherlands, and finishing on the gruelling ramp of the Cauberg – the traditional end of the Amstel Gold Race – riders including the reigning world road race and cyclo-cross champion, Marianne Vos, will be among those bidding for early season glory.
