A Tour de France debut awaits for Team NetApp-Endura, and with it the chance for Irishman Sam Bennett to shine on the big stage. Bennett, a stage winner at the Tour of Britain last year, has been a perennial contender in the sprint finishes this season and at the very least has shown he is a name to watch for the future in his first year with the German-Scottish team.
The team’s biggest hopes, however, rest on the shoulders of Czech ace Leopold Konig, who finished ninth overall at last year’s Vuelta a Espana and picked up a stage win. The team insist they will be hitting peak form by the time the Tour de France comes around – which could also feature Brit Scott Thwaites, who has made the team’s longlist. And if that proves to be the case, Konig will certainly be the man to look out for in Yorkshire and France in July.
