When the rest day arrives you don’t know what to do with yourself

When the rest day arrives you don’t know what to do with yourself
Once you’re properly, deeply immersed in following the Tour it can be hard to let go.
Switching on the TV to catch the highlights in the evening – or, even better, surreptitiously watching online while at your desk – becomes a treasured part of your daily routine.
In fact, it’s remarkable how quickly you become reliant on a daily fix of top-level bike racing.
If that daily fix goes away, all of a sudden it can feel like you’ve lost a major part of your life. How will I fill that hour between 7pm and 8pm now there are no new highlights?
How dare those lazy pros have a rest day? Heaven forbid, you may even end up watching the Tour of Austria just to avoid going cold turkey altogether.
