Tour de France 2015: stage five – rider reaction

The peloton reacts as wind and rain make for a stressful day in the saddle

There was no let-up for the peloton on stage five of the Tour de France, with the cobbles of stage four making way for rain, slick roads and strong winds on stage five.

Andre Greipel (Lotto-Soudal) emerged victorious, for the second time in this year’s race, and Tony Martin kept the yellow jersey to make it a great day for the Germans but for others there were plenty of crashes to contend with, as Jack Bauer (Cannondale-Garmin) and Nacer Bouhanni (Cofidis) abandoned.

And with the crashes, there were plenty showing their scares and expressing their best wishes to the injured riders on Twitter afterwards.

We’ve rounded up some of the best reaction below.
