MAD Fools reliability ride to use sections of Maldon Tour of Dengie race route

Riders seeking a personal challenge before watching Britain’s elite cyclists can sign up to the MAD Fools reliability ride.

The first MAD Fools reliability ride will include sections of route featured in the 2012 Maldon Dengie Tour

The 25 and 32 mile circuits from the historic town of Maldon on Sunday April 1 precede the British Cycling Premier Calendar race, the Maldon Tour of the Dengie, which starts at 1pm.

Many sections of the course to be tackled by elite riders from teams like Endura Racing and Rapha Condor Sharp will feature in the routes offered by the reliability trial.

‘Bridleways, byways and quiet lanes’ are promised, along with refreshment stops and sporting activities on the promenade.

The reliability trial starts and finishes at All Saints Football Club Hut, Maldon Promenade Park, Park drive, CM9 5JG. Event HQ opens at 7.30am for a 9am start.

Free parking is available in the Butt Lane of Whitehorse car parks, described as a “short ride” from event HQ. Paid parking is available on the promenade.

Online entry received before Monday March 27 costs £6. Entry on the day costs £10.
