Entries are open for the 2015 London Cycle Sportive, which takes place in the capital on Sunday May 10.
Part of the Human Race Sportive Series, the event – which has sold out in the last two years – features three routes, taking in the Surrey Hills used for the 2012 Olympics and, more recently, at RideLondon.
Rolling out of Dulwich Park, the three routes – 50km, 100km and 100 miles – all finish with a lap of Herne Hill Velodrome, a further tribute to London’s proud Olympic history as the only remaining infrastructure from the 1948 Games.
The ‘short’ 50km route tackles the North Downs and Biggin Hill, while the ‘medium’ 100km option follows the country lanes of Reigate and Dorking, including the now iconic Box Hill.
Riders on the ‘long’ 100-mile route will follow the same roads as the medium route but continue towards the North Downs, rejoining the medium route at Ranmore Common.
Billed as both a challenge in its own right, or as a build up to other Human Race sportives such as June’s Wiggle Dragon Ride and Wiggle Dragon Tour, the sportive will benefit the Herne Hill Velodrome Trust and Access Sport charities.
