Ballot for 100-mile RideLondon-Surrey 100 sportive now open, entry fixed at £58

Online registration for the 2017 Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 sportive is now open, with the Mayor of London’s Prudential RideLondon festival of cycling returning from Friday July 28 to Sunday July 30.

Entry for the sportive, which this year saw 29,689 riders complete either the 100 or 46 events, will again be £58 and the registration system for the ballot will be open until Friday January 6 or when 80,000 people are registered – whichever is earliest.

And all riders who enter the ballot this year can also enter the Fixing Challenge – the chance to be mentored by the Whitington family, who were behind the documentary Fixing Dad.

After the two sons, Anthony and Ian, helped their dad Geoff overcome his type 2 diabetes thanks to changing his lifestyle, the three are offering to mentor up to four riders for this year’s event, which will be filmed as part of the BBC’s event coverage.

Anthony said of the challenge: “In 2017, we could be Fixing Mum, Fixing Dad, Fixing your brother, sister, friend or Fixing you.

“We know how committing to a challenge like this can make a profound and permanent difference to your health and lifestyle and we would love to help other families achieve what our family has done.”
