More than 800 keen cyclists will tackle this year’s Deloitte Ride Across Britain, with Threshold Sports announcing the event has sold out nine months in advance.
A ‘bucket list’ event for many cyclists, the nine-day end-to-end cycling challenge – the largest in the UK – returns for its fifth edition this September when riders will tackle the 1,000 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats.
Following the success of the previous editions, organisers made 30 per cent more places available for 2014, but with the event selling out so quickly any riders keen to take part in the 2015 edition are being urged to register their interest now.
Nick Tuppen, Threshold Sports’ commercial director, said: “The event has gone from strength to strength since 2010, but this year has seen a massive jump in demand for places.
“As the reputation of the event builds more and more people are adding the ‘end to end’ to their cycling bucket list and whether you are a keen club rider or new to cycling, we believe that Deloitte RAB is the best way to tick off the Land’s End to John O’Groats challenge.”
The challenge features a 150-strong support crew and fully-serviced base camps each day, offering individual tents, power showers, massage and a three-course meal.
Next year’s dates will be announced in July, and interested riders can register their interest, or find more information, at www.rideacrossbritain.com.
