Normally hosted on the second weekend of May the Jurassic Beast “Epic”, as it’s known to its friends and fellow riders, is 101 miles with 2,250 metres of elevation. The climbs are frequent and testing, especially the ascent of Bulbarrow which is a real brute, so are good for teaching you how to stay focussed and dig deep all the way to the top. Dorset has some of the finest roads you’ll find in the UK. The combination of distance, climbing and where this event lies in the calendar make it a perfect choice as you prepare for bigger rides to come.
