How about Tuscany, Mallorca, southern Spain or the Canary Islands? Or why not enter an overseas sportive to sample the European gran fondo scene? The Tour of Menorca, which offers three days of riding on October 16-18, and Granfondo Campagnolo Roma (October 11), run on closed roads in and around the Italian capital and a great way to combine a sportive with a city break, remain two of our favourite events.
Whether it’s a few days in the sun, an oversea sportive, or an organised tour, an end-of-season break is a great way to bring summer to a close.
