Aviva Tour of Britain 2016 dates confirmed

Britain's premier national stage race returns next September

The dates for next year’s Tour of Britain have been confirmed by organisers Sweetspot, with the country’s premier stage race set to roll out on Sunday September 4.

The eight-day race, won this year by Edvald Boasson Hagen (MTN-Qhubeka), will be launched fully in the spring – with details of the route and invited teams all to follow.

But those hoping to get to the roadside, wherever they are set to be, can pencil the dates into their diary already – September 4 to Sunday September 11.

The news means the race will keep its traditional slot on the first two weekends of the month – running parallel with the final week of the Vuelta a Espana.
