Blue Competition Cycles launch in UK

Blue Competition Cycles slippery C1 SL

US-based Blue Competition Cycles made its first launch into the UK market at last week’s London Cycle Show, with a range covering road, time trial, cyclo-cross and mountain bikes.

You might not have heard of them, but they have been going for about five years and the Georgia company is offering a free wind tunnel session for everyone that buys one of its top-end Triad time trial bikes. That’s not a bad offer at all.

Highlight was the aero road bike AC1 SL. A T1000/T800 high modulus carbon fibre frame weighs 1.1kg but uses “SFT2 Super Flow Tube Tech” to enhance the frames aerodynamic properties, which you can see in the curved downtube, internal cable routing very neatly fed into the tubeset behind the stem, an aero seatpost and concealed seat clamp, and teardrop shaped tubes. A BB30 bottom bracket is used along with a standard 1 1/8 headtube.

The top-end TT Triad SL is made from Aerus Conquest T1000 and T800 high modulus carbon fiber and a C4TT aero fork, with internal cable routing, BB30 bottom bracket and a the rear brake caliper mounted behind the BB shell. And to ensure your position can be honed for best aero performance, the company is offering a free one-hour session in a wind tunnel
