Sabbath Bicycles launch new frames

The range-topping Silk Emperor has a dramatic looking frame

Titanium specialists Sabbath Bicycles will be using this weekend’s London Cycle Show to launch three brand new framesets, including the top-end Silk Emperor, the sportive-specific Silk Road Alp, an overhauled Silk Road Pro and the touring-friendly Silk Route.

Sitting at the top of the tree is the Silk Emperor, which is one of the few titanium framesets currently available with the rapidly-becoming-standard BB30 bottom bracket. The frame has been built using a cold working process which allows for thinner tube walls and larger welding areas, bringing the weight down and increasing stiffness. The new frameset ushers in a new finish and decal package to be used on each model in the range.

The Silk Road Alp is the company’s sportive-specific model and along with the a completely overhauled Silk Road Pro, both advantage of technology present in the Silk Emperor. And now there is a touring bike, the aptly titled (and my favourite of the new model names) Silk Route.

The Cycle Show will be the first chance to see the bikes in the flesh, as well as the facelifts given to the established favorites such as the September and Silk Road models. Sabbath Bicycles will also be offering discounts at the show so worth heading along then.

And members of Team Sabbath-Claytan will be on hand to share their thoughts on the frames they have ridden.
