Italian company Viner has been hand-making bicycles since 1947 and is one of the few companies that still manufactures all of its frames in-house. At the London Cycle Show last week new UK distributor Company Z launched the 2010 range and RCUK took a close look.
The Maxima RS is the latest model from Viner and is a development of the Maxima, which is the company’s top-end frameset. It is made using a tube-and-lug wrap construction process to a rider’s exact sizing, geometry and ride preferences. The frame pictured uses a Deda rear triangle but production frames will use a new rear triangle developed by Viner.
Viner offers off-the-peg bikes lower down its range but the Maxima RS is only available as a custom option, with an expected delivery time of around 6-7 weeks.
