BLOK
dhb has established a solid reputation by clothing many of the nation’s sportive riders in a simple palette of blue, red, and black jerseys, and shorts in unbroken black. What might be considered solid and dependable by some, however, to others may be dull and uninspiring. The BLOK is the dhb design team’s response to calls from some of its customer base to be more adventurous. The result is a collection of jerseys and bib-shorts inspired by jockey silks, composed as a ‘thank-you’ to the brand’s three core markets: the UK, Australia, and Japan.
Names like ‘Dasher’, ‘Red Circle’, ‘and Jack Jockey’, provide hefty clues to the designers’ intentions to relax the brand’s image and have some fun. As well as the brightly coloured jerseys and shorts and tights with coloured hems, dhb has produced arm warmers in sizes small, medium, and large, and in similarly unmissable designs. The garments will fit within the brand’s ‘performance’ tier, intended for use ‘day in, day out’ rather than as Sunday best, or to meet the greater demands of a race or endurance event. The BLOK jerseys will sell for £49.99, and the bib-shorts for £59.99, in cuts for men and women (sizes XS to XXL for men, and eight to 16 for women). The bib-tights will be priced at £69.99.
