Genesis is the house brand of UK distribution giant, Madison, whose portfolio includes Garmin, Go Pro, and Shimano among others.
A young brand in a hurry, Genesis has carved an impressive niche for steel and aluminium road, cyclo-cross, track, and (whisper it) mountain bikes. Note the conspicuous absence of carbon fibre from their line-up – a clear indication of a brand intent on doing something different to its competitors.
Genesis’ emphasis has swung heavily towards road bikes for model year 2014, and the range about to be released includes five new models and four new frames, among them a four-strong family of race-ready steel bikes: the Volare.
Here then is a ‘first look’ at what we consider the most significant additions to a brand for which we’ve previously made no secret of our admiration.
