American Classic
The big road news for American Classic comes in the shape of their Carbon 40 clinchers, a full carbon 40mm-deep set of wheels that weigh in at a claimed 1,400g per pair.
They have a 18-spoke radial pattern at the front, and 24-spoke three-cross pattern at the rear. The rims are 22mm wide at the brake track, but shaped so that the widest part of the wheel is just below that. They retail at £1,249.99, but there are a couple of upgrades such as Ti skewers and ceramic hubs available which will ramp the price up a bit.

The new Sprint 350 wheels were also on the American Classic display. Retailing at £519.99, they’re wider at 22.6mm but still weigh at a suitably light 1,396g and come tubeless ready. That sounds good value to us and we’ll look to get a set in to test.
