MuleBar go green with compostable wrappers

We’ve been fans of MuleBar’s 100 per cent natural energy bars, and now the company has boosted its eco credentials further with the introduction of compostable wrappers.

The wrappers are made from wood pulp, which originates from non-genetically modified sources from four certified suppliers.

They’re designed for home or industrial composting, where they’ll take between four and ten weeks to degrade. Throw them to the roadside and we’re looking at three years, so, as ever, don’t go doing that.

The NatureFlex wrappers require the right conditions to start degrading – warmth, moisture and presence of micro-organisms – so don’t worry, they won’t start disappearing from your kitchen cupboards.

As it stands, only MuleBar’s Hunza Nut and Apple Strudel flavours come with the new wrappers. Liquorice Allsports, Pinacolada, Chocolate Fig Fiesta, Mango Tango, Summer Pudding flavours are also available in the old packaging.

You can find more info on the compostable wrappers on MuleBar’s website.
