Bauke Mollema does not have the same profile as his Blanco Pro Cycling team captain, Robert Gesink, but is perhaps entitled to do so.

In seven remarkably consistent seasons as a professional, Mollema has routinely finished in the top 10 of the world’s major stage races.

While his metronomic appearances at the sharp end of a final general classification are impressive, victories, even on stages, have largely eluded him.
