Tour of Mercia completes Tour of England sportive series line-up

Two-day event to take place in July, featuring time trial and timed hill climb

The fourth and final event of the 2015 NSPCC Tour of England series has been confirmed, with the NSPCC Tour of Mercia to take place on Saturday July 18 and Sunday July 19.

The two-days sportives offer pro-level support to riders, with the NSPCC Tour of Yorkshire, NSPCC Tour of the South East and the NSPCC Tour of the Cotswolds already on the billing.

And the Peak District National Park will now provide the backdrop for the most recently announced, with 160 miles of the region’s best roads to be covered.

Following the same format as the summer’s other three tours, the NSPCC Tour of Mercia will boast support vehicles for each group of riders – seeded by speed – domestiques, soigneurs and mechanics.

Ride2Raise director Richard King said: “Having ridden in the Peak District before I’ve seen first-hand what a perfect location it is for a cycling event and so we’re excited to be able to bring this experience to riders who are up for the challenge.”

The events base will be the Derbyshire Hotel, with discounted event rates and the Yellow Jersey Dinner – a feature of each Tour – to be held at the four-star resort.

The two-day Tour will also include a timed climbs and a time trial section, with entry now open.
