All roads lead to Yorkshire: where to be during the Grand Départ weekend

The white rose county prepares for an invasion of cycling fans

It will not have escaped your attention that there is a lot of excitement building up in the white rose county ahead of the Tour de France Grand Départ weekend in July.

Yorkshire will play host to one of sport’s greatest spectacles, and there is no shortage of fans preparing to make the trip to Leeds, Harrogate or somewhere en route to mark the occasion.

The cycling industry and local attractions have wasted little time in staging events  across the county as Yorkshire awaits the arrival of the fans.

Quite simply – unless you have a pre-booked date with the Dolomites or Alpe d’Huez – all roads will lead to Yorkshire.

Here are just some of the shows, festivals and activities you can enjoy over the Grand Départ weekend, with the Tour peloton rolling out of Leeds on Saturday July 5.
