All roads lead to Yorkshire: where to be during the Grand Départ weekend

The white rose county prepares for an invasion of cycling fans

Situated directly on the Grand Depart route, VeloFest will be set at the heart of the Yorkshire Dales at Kilnsey Park. Hosting the Yorkshire Cycling Festival and a Yorkshire Food Village, there is also plenty going on besides just a perfect vantage point for the Tour action. Taking place from Thursday July 3 to Sunday July 6, the estate has space for 3,000 tent, caravan or motor home pitches – with electrical hook-up available.

Luxury camping is also available, while entertainment is provided in the form of live music, a cycle show and open air cinema. Ideally located for Bolton Abbey, on the route for stage two of the Tour, there will also be opportunities to ride to the roadside the following day, or stay and watch the action unfold on the big screens.
