With the new UCI WorldTour season now just days away, it’s been all go for the biggest teams in professional cycling, and here at RCUK Towers things have been no different.
Winter may have proved to be a miserable affair so far, but it has provided perfect conditions for us to test the winter kit we have been sent – with Rapha’s wares the latest to be put through their paces.
The pro riders have also been receiving their new kit ahead of the Tour Down Under, which rolls out of Adelaide on Tuesday January 21, with Rapha launching Team Sky’s 2014 kit.
Rui Costa’s transfer to Lampre-Merida means he will benefit from the Italian team’s Reacto Evo bike meanwhile, which has received a special rainbow-striped paint scheme.
And it may seem far away, but before you know it the Grand Départ of the 2014 Tour de France will be upon us and Costa will be beginning his bid for GC success with the other contenders in Yorkshire.
We paid a visit to Harrogate to see how the spa town is shaping up, so stay tuned to RCUK for plenty more on that front.
Until then, however, you can read up on another trip – to the Tacx Factory in the Netherlands, where almost everything is built in-house.
You can check it out here, or see the following pages for more great stories from the last seven days on RCUK.
