The 2014 UCI WorldTour season is officially upon us – and it has certainly been worth the wait after an enthralling start to the season some 12,000 miles away in Australia.
It has given us plenty to ponder ahead of the coming season too, and you can see our thoughts on events at the Tour Down Under here.
If racing in the searing heat of Australia seems like a whole different world though, you are probably not alone.
While the WorldTour’s elite compete in summer heat, we are still in the midst of winter – and fittingly we have taken our RCUK winter bike for a first spin.
Amidst the poor weather, British domestic number one Yanto Barker shared his top tips for keeping warm with us too, while on the clothing front we have also taken a look at the 2014 ranges of Altura and dhb.

Of course, if the weather is getting too much there is always the option to head abroad – so don’t forget about our competition to win a cycling trip for two to Andalucia.
But if you are headed for hotter climes, the golden rule of applying sun cream is not to be overlooked – particularly if you plan on wearing a mesh jersey, ‘eh Mr Froome?
There’s been plenty going on at RCUK this week. Check out the best of the last seven days over the following pages.
