The 2014 UCI WorldTour got underway in style with Simon Gerrans (Orica-GreenEDGE) snatching a third career victory at the Tour Down Under by just one second from Cadel Evans (BMC Racing).

Now, while the WorldTour takes a brief hiatus before returning to Europe in March for Paris-Nice, pro cycling’s elite are bound for the deserts for some hot weather racing in Dubai, Qatar and Oman.

Brits Mark Cavendish (Omega Pharma-Quickstep) and Chris Froome (Team Sky) had plenty to celebrate in the Middle East this time last year, but who will be on top form this time out?
