Hackney GT Trackster jersey

Made in England, cracking performance and a price that's hard to beat - what's not to like?

Bold, bright, unabashed. Hackney GT make garments that stand out from the crowd but perform to a great standard; when we tell you the Trackster Jersey featured here is one of their most subtle designs, that should tell its own story.

Yep, eye-catching red with a navy collar, white polka dots and bold branding is fairly ordinary by Hackney GT’s standards – but that’s part of what makes the London-based brand stand out from the crowd.

Looks can be deceiving, but the Hackney GT Trackster jersey backs its visually-stunning style with a great performance – something we discovered when we reviewed the jersey last summer. And any jersey that combines form and function for £75 is well worth considering.

“Made in England, built to last and always looks good” – that’s Hackney GT’s motto and the Trackster certainly ticks all three boxes on that front.

It’s not just UK-made either, but offers a ‘UK fit’ too. In other words, the sort of fit your average UK rider will be happy with – it’s not race tight, but it doesn’t stray into café casual either.

What you get is a retro-esque squarer cut, still tapered in at the waist but with enough breathing room to ensure you won’t look like you’ve been squeezed into the jersey as long as you’re honest with your sizing.

Beneath the eye-catching style you have a dimpled ‘golf ball’ weave to wick away sweat and keep things comfortable. It’s not world-changing tech, but it’s effective and does a great job at this price. A full-length zipper and three rear pockets – with a fourth, zipped pocket – ensure you can regulate air flow and have plenty of storage space.

Hackney GT’s founder started life as a DJ’s one-man band, designing a one-off jersey to promote his music business. The brand’s growth since then means you have plenty of choice when it comes to striking apparel – perfect for any punter looking to spruce up their cycling attire.
