February 22 – The Rawlinson Bracket, Warwickshire
The Rawlinson Bracket is a hilly ride in Warwickshire which pays tribute to former cyclist Nick Rawlinson and raises money for research into Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS).
Taking in training routes which Nick used himself, before his untimely death aged 30 in February 2012, all profits from the event got to the SADS UK charity.
With a new ride HQ, Warwick’s Moreton College, and a revised route for this year, the hilly course is 90km in length with 930m of climbing over six main ascents – Knowle Hill and Sunrising Hill, which both boast a maximum gradient of 16 per cent, among them
A flatter route, covering 48km with 300m of climbing, is also available, for those riders who are after a steadier start to their 2015 sportive programme.
