Finally, as far as road shoes are concerned, the Trans is designed to offer many of the features of Giro’s top-end shoes, but at a more affordable price – £159.99.
The upper is made from a regular mircofibre with mesh inserts, while the sole is Easton’s EC70 offering, designed to combine stiffness and comfort. Two velcro straps and Giro’s MR2 ratchet secure the shoe. The MR2, is a pared down version of the MR1, with a slightly higher stack height and adjustability at 3mm increments, rather than 2mm.
You still get Giro’s Super Natural Fit System arch adjustability, while claimed weight is 275g. The Trans is available in three colours (white/red, white/black and black/white) and Giro’s regular range of sizes, while, like the Factor, it’s also available in a High Volume fit in sizes 40-48.
