Giro’s footwear range been revamped for 2014, with significant updates to the Prolight, Factor and Empire shoes.
We took a closer look at the range at the UK launch of Giro’s new distributor, Zyro. Giro is a stablemate of California-based Easton Bell Sports, so we also took the opportunity to check out the new Easton road wheel collection which, for model year 2014, includes the world’s first tubeless-compatible carbon clincher.
Giro say fit is at the heart of their shoe philosophy and all the firm’s high-end footwear – the Prolight SLX II, Factor ACC, Empire ACC and Trans – use the ‘Super Natural Fit System’, which combines a thin, cycling-specific footbed with an adjustable arch support system. Each shoe comes with a number of arch supports (three for women, four for men) which slot into the base of the footbed, allowing the user to customise it out of the box.
So let’s take a closer look. Over the next seven pages we’ll run through the refreshed shoe range, as well as Giro’s new Aspect helmet.
